We are a community of free-thinking people who follow the example of Jesus Christ. St. John's is part of the Episcopal Church & the world-wide Anglican Communion. We worship God together weekly on Sundays at 11 am. All people--cis-gendered, LGBTQIA, differently-abled, Black, ᏣᎳᎩ, white, young & old, conservative, liberal, & apolitical, believing & doubting--are welcome here. We strive to fully welcome ALL, just as Christ has welcomed us into this family of faith.

Any--the majority of our members live locally.

History

Founded in 1879St. John's has deep roots in Sylva, beginning as a mission church in 1879. We began by offering worship services, Sunday school, and academic classes. A frame church was built on Jackson Street in 1912 & later replaced by the current building in 1956. Since our founding, we have sought to bring God's love and reconciliation to our community.
